PA passes resolution against PM’s remarks
Punjab Assembly has passed a resolution with majority votes while strongly condemning Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks wherein he had allegedly termed the former Prime Minister Imran Khan “fraud”.
The Opposition lawmakers created pandemonium when Provincial Minister Basharat Raja was presenting the resolution.
Meanwhile, the Opposition also used its card to point out quorum; however, the Panel of Chairmen Mian Muhammad Shafi did not bother with it.
The resolution added up that the prime minister ruined the dignity of the premiership which is considered the most respectful slot. That person who declared “fraud” to the former PM Khan is a fraud. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) so-called PM Shehbaz Sharif had been claiming to tear the belly of PPP’s former president Asif Ali Zardari but not the nation saw “he (Shehbaz Sharif) is sitting in Zardari’s lap”.
He said PM Shehbaz Sharif’s brother was convicted while his son former chief minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif is an absconder, the resolution added up. The PM is still attending court proceedings in different cases which meant the whole Sharif family is the liar’s family.
The resolution intimated that PM Shehbaz Sharif stop disgracing the PM’s office through such improper words.
Meanwhile, the Opposition lawmakers came down hard over the conduct of the provincial government saying the government was running the House illegally as the PML-N’s lawmakers pointed out quorum but the Panel of Chairmen Mian Shafi did not notice it although Assembly Rules say that a person who is presiding the House will be duty bound to stop the proceedings and start counting the members to show up the number required to run the House proceedings.
The House started with laps of more than two hours under the chair of the Panel of Chairmen despite the scheduled time of 3:00pm.
