Mental health of children discussed

Departmental chairperson says if trauma is not treated in time, it can cause significant psychological problems

The department of the psychology University of Karachi organised a seminar entitled "Psychological interventions for children who experienced trauma" at KU Arts Auditorium. Professor of Child Mental Health facilitated the colloquium at the University of Leicester (UK), Dr Panos Vostanis.

The Head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Development Program under Hussaini Foundation, Dr Sajida Hassan, emphasised the mental well-being of children and highlighted its significance for future development.

Meanwhile, the departmental chairperson, Professor Dr Anila Amber Malik, shed light that, ironically, we do not support people who have mental illness and do not help them get treatment on time. She observed that if trauma is not treated in time, it can cause significant psychological problems on a long-term basis.
