Removal of 100 cattle sheds ordered

They were directed to immediately stop the generation of litter/ cattle dung

KARACHI:

The Director General, Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) Naeem Ahmed Mughal has issued Environmental Protection Orders (EPOs) under Section 21 (2) of Sindh Environmental Protection Act 214 (SEP Act-2014) separately to the President and Secretary of Nagori Cooperative Dairy Farming Society Limited located at NC-213, Deh Kharkhro, Super Highway District Malir, Karachi.

He took this stern action against the 100 cattle/ dairy farms which were littering and discharging dung into Malir River. They were directed to immediately stop the generation of litter/ cattle dung, removal of animal baras (sheds) from their present location within 30 days without fail and restore the environment including removal of all dung piles from the location to safeguard the environment and human health.

They were also warned that their failure to comply with the said directives shall lead to stern action against them in the light of SEP Act-2014 and its Rules.
