KARACHI:

Friends and family members of a young property dealer staged a protest demonstration in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) after he was found dead in a room of the building where his office was located.

The protesters holding placards marched on Khayaban-e-Ittehad to demand justice after a video message of the deceased property dealer, named Sohail Ahmed, surfaced on social media a day after his death. The deceased named some people to be held responsible if anything happened to him

The young realtor was found dead with a single gunshot wound to his head and his 9mm pistol in his hand.

Though it seemed like suicide, police said they would investigate because the deceased was under great mental stress after some powerful people illegally occupied a property he had purchased in partnership.

At the protest, Sohail's relative, Muhammad Sabir, said he has met with South District DIG Sharjeel Kharal who has assured him of a thorough investigation.

According to police officials, initially it appeared a suicide case. However, an inquiry has been launched into every possible angle because Sohail had warned of threats to his life in his video message.
