Sonya Hussyn, Mohsin Abbas Haider’s ‘Daadal’ to release on Eidul Fitr 2023

The crime thriller also stars Maira Khan, Adnan Shah Tipu and Shamoon Abbasi in pivotal roles

A list of films due for release is now a part of the local Eid experience. The festive days aren’t complete without an entertainer on the big screens and while there’s time for Eidul Fitr, we already know what’s waiting for us. The first look from the Sonya Hussyn and Mohsin Ali Abbass starrer Daadal is now out and with it came the release date announcement.

Writer and director Abu Aleeha took to Instagram on Thursday night to share the first look at his upcoming anticipated crime thriller. Holding her hands in a punching pose, the image looks at a fierce Hussyn wearing boxing gloves with her hair tied in rowdy box braids. “I am not a mere resistance to fear, I am the courage life has ever imagined, I am Haya Baloch,” read the caption, revealing the character Hussyn will be essaying.

Calling it a “gangster crime thriller,” Aleeha added that the film will release in theatres worldwide on Eid ul Fitr 2023. Produced by Neha Laaj and Asif Malik, the new genre film will also star Rizwan Ali Jafri, Maira Khan, Adnan Shah Tipu and Shamoon Abbasi in pivotal roles.

Another awaited Eid release will be Faisal Qureshi’s directorial debut Money Back Guarantee (MGB) which will feature Fawad Khan on the big screen again after The Legend of Maula Jatt. The star-studded film will also see Wasim Akram, and in a first, Shaniera Akram, making her acting debut. Television mainstays Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Omar, Javed Sheikh, Jan Rambo, Gohar Rasheed, Hina Dilpazir, Mani, Ali Safina, Adnan Jaffer and model-turned-actor Kiran Malik, among others, will also be playing pivotal roles in the upcoming flick.
