Anti-dengue teams told to regularly visit hotspots

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi paid a surprise visit to Shah Jamal while returning from his office on Thursday and reviewed the anti-dengue campaign in the locality.

He checked the activities of the local dengue surveillance team.

The chief minister distributed pamphlets among the people to create awareness about the steps being taken by the government for the eradication of dengue fever.

He also saw the houses where dengue larva had been found and was also shown the larva being detected in a house.

Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi talked about the performance of the anti-dengue teams with the inhabitants of the area.

Talking to a resident of the house where the larva was found, the chief minister apprised him of the need to adopt preventive measures to save themselves from dengue.

Talking with the members of the anti-dengue team, he said the houses around the ones where the larva was found should also be checked.

The CM directed the surveillance teams to regularly visit the hotspot houses and other areas.

He asserted that the parks and the green areas should be specially checked and anti-mosquito spray should be done regularly, adding that wherever there is stagnant water, its drainage should be ensured expeditiously.

He ordered the officials concerned to carry on the anti-dengue campaign in a more effective manner.

The commissioner and deputy commissioner of Lahore were also present along with health department officials.
