The Peshawar High Court (PHC) sought reply from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) establishment secretary and other officials on a writ petition filed against the appointment of junior officers to executive posts by ignoring senior officers.
The petition, filed by a Grade-16 employee in the former FATA Development Authority (FDA), was heard by a two-member bench, comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Syed Arshad Ali.
The petitioner said the dissolution of the FDA, the employees were sent to a surplus pool. However, later certain officers, who junior to him, were posted as industrial development officers under the control of the Establishment Department.
However, he further said that he had been retained in Grade 16 and appointed as an Assistant in the Industries Department. He requested the court to appoint him as an Industrial Development Officer, under his seniority. Later, the court issued notices to the establishment secretary and the industry secretary for filing their replies.
