Water and Sanitation Agency ’s (WASA) Managing Director Muhammad Tanveer on Saturday said that the agency has been put on high alert to cope up with urban flooding after the rainfall.
He said that the agency was continuously monitoring the water level in Nullah Leh, particularly during rain.
He said that the sanitation staff had been directed to remain alert and utilise all available resources to prevent water-logging in the area.
According to a WASA spokesman, the agency was put on high alert to cope with urban flooding following intermittent rain in twin cities.
He informed that heavy machinery of WASA has been shifted to low-lying areas to provide quick response in case of any emergency .
A maximum of 59 mm of rain was recorded in Saidpur Village, 35mm in Golra, 9mm in Bokra, 23mm in PMD, 31mm in Shamsabad, and 27mm in Chaklala.
The water level remained 6 feet in Kattrian and 5 feet in Gawalmandi during rain.
