Night-time landings at Sukkur Airport have been temporarily banned due to the recent rains in the province.
According to details, the Civil Aviation Authority has issued a notice to all airlines about night landings and stated that no planes would be able to land at Sukkur Airport until September 25.
Night landings have been halted owing to the damage to the airfield lighting system due to rains and floods. Emergency maintenance work on the airfield lighting system is ongoing while sources said that the recent rains have left the system dysfunctional.
Moreover, Taxiway Charlie of Sukkur Airport is fully functional. On the other hand, Mohenjo Daro and Nawabshah Airports are closed for
flight operations.
