Clad in an all-black desi attire, we love how she opted to go all traditional for an international event

Momina Mustehsan may be one of the most talented singers to come out of Pakistan but she is also fast becoming one of the country’s most high-profile activists on issues that she holds close to her heart.

Using her fame to advocate for social causes including women's rights, cyberbullying and mental health awareness, the Afreen Afreen crooner’s most recent subject of concern is climate change. The artist, who also bagged a spot on BBC's 100 Influential Women in the past, recently shared a string of interesting posts on her Instagram Stories.

Mustehsan attended the Forbes Power Women's Summit on September 15. The first image she posted appeared to be the e-invite to the event. It featured a picture of her holding a placard that read, “Today, it is Pakistan. Tomorrow, it could be your country. #ClimateEmergency.” Her message was clear; the global icon was referring to the recent events of devastating floods in Pakistan.

The next post was of Mustehsan herself. Clad in an all-black desi attire, we love how she opted to go all traditional for an international event on such a massive scale. The Tera Wuh Pyaar singer looked cool yet chic in a loose mardaana kurta and matching shalwar. She sported strappy black heels and half-tied her hair. Completing her look with a black choker and minimal makeup, Mustehsan surely looked like she was at the event to make a powerful statement.

Meanwhile, she attended several panel discussions at the summit. The first among them was the one that saw popular Hollywood actor Blake Lively taking to the stage, followed by luxury designer brand Tory Burch. The last of them was comedians, actors and social media mavens, Grace Kuhlenschmidt, and Dylan Mulvaney, talking TikTok stardom with Forbes’ Barbie Ferreira.
