HAVELIAN:

The Havelian Chamber of Commerce (HCC) on Thursday demanded that the Punjab government lift a ban on the inter-provincial movement of wheat and flour to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

HCC Senior Vice President Naseer Ahmed Abbasi said that for the past four months, there had been a ban on supply of flour from Punjab to K-P.

Ahmed said that the current price of 20 kgs of flour bags was Rs2,200, and the main reason for the price hike was the Punjab government's ban on inter-provincial movement. He said that the price of Punjab's flour was increasing day by day, reducing the purchasing power of the poor, lamenting over the fact that the most important food commodity was not available for the people in K-P.
