ISLAMABAD:

The first annual book fair was organised at Aghosh College, Murree on Tuesday.

Prominent writer Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Khokhar and poet Ahmed Hatib Siddiqui inaugurated the fair.

Aghosh College Principal Azam Khan said that an NGO is running state-of-the-art Aghosh Homes for the welfare of orphans. He added that no doubt, orphans are the most neglected section of our society, but this neglect and deprivation can be eliminated if the state, public, civil society, media and non-governmental organisations work together to improve the situation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khokhar said that it is our collective responsibility to ensure the upbringing of the child whose parents or both parents are no longer in this world.
