Missing schoolgirls recovered

Said they skipped school out of fear of corporal punishment for not completing homework

Two minor girls from Millat Park, who out of fear of punishment at school over imcomplete homework remained hidden somewhere, have been recovered on Monday.

Police said Mahnoor 11, and Bisma 10, studied at a nearby school. The victim girls on the day of the incident left for school from their home but did not reach there.

When their family came to know about their absence, they were perturbed and started searching for them. The police was also alerted about the incident. The search was launched by the family as well police. Announcements were also made in the nearby mosques.

After a hectic search of hours, the victims were spotted hiding behind the building of National Bank Colony.

The girls told the police that they skipped school because they feared corporal punishment for not completing their homework.

In another incident in the provincial capital, a 19-year-old boy, who left his house after a fight with his family, was found sitting with drug addicts.

Police said Jawad, a resident of Gowalmandi, was angry with his family after they scolded him over some minor issue. He left the house without informing his family out of frustration.

The family started searching for him and also alerted police. The victim was spotted surrounded by a group of drug addicts.
