Dengue claims another life in city

843 people have contracted vector-borne disease so far this month

Yet another person lost his life to the fell prey to the dengue hemorrhagic viral fever in the East district of Karachi on Sunday, while another 113 tested positive for the vector-borne disease during the past 24 hours.

The number of dengue cases in the current year has crossed the 3,000 threshold in Karachi, officials at the government-run hospitals said, sharing data of reported cases.

A total of 843 people have contracted the vector-borne disease in Karachi so far in September.

In the last 24 hours, 113 dengue cases have been reported in the city. A total of 3428 dengue cases have been reported across the province in the current year. No case of dengue was reported in the districts of Hyderabad and Larkana yesterday. It should be noted that a high number of dengue cases are being reported in the East district of Karachi.

Prominent educationist, philanthropist and businessman Hunaid Lakhani passed away due to dengue in Karachi on Thursday.
