Faisalabad Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mueen Masood Saturday claimed to solve a Rs49.6 million robbery case within 24 hours.

Addressing a press conference at the Police Lines on Saturday, he said that police not only arrested the accused, but also recovered the stolen money.

The RPO said the robbery took place in Sadar Jaranwala police station area.

The police received a call at 1:10pm stating that Abdul Aziz had allegedly stolen Rs49.6 million in cash from MCB bank, along with cash, from Adda Awagat.

The police registered FIR No 828/22 under Section 408 PPC and started an investigation.

City Police Officer (CPO) Omar Saeed Malik formed six teams, each under the supervision of a CIA officer, SHO Nishatabad, SHO Bachiana, SHO Khurarianwala, SHO City Jaranwala and SHO Sadar.

With the latest technology at hand, SHO Khurarianwala traced the location of cash van and arrested the accused Abdul Aziz and his accomplice Haneef.

The police also recovered Rs46.8 million in cash from the accused and detained them for further investigation.

During initial interrogation, it was discovered that Abdul Aziz and Haneef were colleagues and used to work together for a private bank. They formulated a plan for the robbery and executed it on Friday.
