Police say truck driver crushed teenager to death few days ago

Pind Dadan Khan City police arrested a truck driver who allegedly killed a young boy a few days ago and fled after committing the crime.

The police moved the truck to the police station. The truck driver after crushing a 13-year-old boy, Ghaffar at 6am on Khewra Road, had fled from the crime scene. He was driving carelessly.

A 13-year-old youth, Ghaffar Iftikhar, a resident of Bhalwal, who was living in a shanty town near the railway gate Pind Dadan Khan, was allegedly crushed to death by an unknown truck driver on Khewra Road on August 25 and fled.

The DPO issued special instructions to Incharge City Outpost Pind Dadan Khan for the truck driver's arrest. Following the DPO's instructions, the In-charge City Checkpost Masood Butt Muharrar, City Checkpost Raja Nayyar Abbas along with his team traced the truck along with the driver with the help of the CCTV cameras installed on Jhelum Road, Khewra Road and Kashmir Chowk routes. The truck driver is a resident of village Pannawal.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a three-member gang involved in street crimes and recovered stolen money of Rs1,00,000, a stolen motorcycle and weapons used in the crimes, informed a police spokesman here Saturday.

During the course of action, Naseerabad police have arrested the accused involved in street crimes identified as Luqman alias Mani, Shakirullah and Nauman. According to the initial report, the accused had already been wanted in several incidents of street crime. The accused have been shifted to jail to process their identification, after which the scope of the investigation will be expanded.

SP Pothohar said that strict action would be taken against those involved in depriving the citizens of their assets.
