468 dead during rains since Aug 20: Memon

The minister said 517,772 people have been relocated to these relief camps, where they are receiving amenities

KARACHI:

During the recent rains and floods across Sindh, 468 people have lost their lives while 14,978 injured during a period from August 20 till date, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said while sharing official data on Tuesday.

Since the beginning of the monsoon season, 96,598 livestock have perished throughout the province, he said, adding that the Sindh government is making a lot of efforts to assist flood victims with rehabilitation and relief.

The focus is to rescue the flood victims; therefore, 1,910 relief camps have already been established in the province's affected districts.

Up to this point, 517,772 people have been relocated to these relief camps, where they are receiving food, water, medical care, and other facilities.

Furthermore, Memon said that crops standing on 3,168,268 acres of land had been devastated.
