Chak Jalaldin residents face water shortage

Despite several complaints, water supply not restored

Residents of Malik Colony in Union Council Chak Jalaldin and Nai Abadi have been deprived of clean drinking water for three months.

According to the residents, the people have been deprived of water facilities due to the failure of WASA Rawalpindi. They added despite the repair work of the tube well, dirty water is still being supplied. Despite several complaints to the relevant authorities, no attention was paid to the issue.

Residents of Street No. 19, Nai Abadi said that the water supply has been completely suspended for the past three months which was reported several times but no action has been taken yet. A team from WASA staff visited a few days ago, but the water supply could not be restored.

The rulers of WASA have failed miserably in ensuring water supply due to which people are forced to pay Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 per tanker of water.

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Rawalpindi Captain (R) Qasim Ijaz Monday visited the Anti-Dengue control room established in the Chak Jalal Din area and assessed the cleanliness situation of streets and plots.

The ADCG, who also has charge of MD Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC), directed the officials to empty the trash trolleys and clean the streets and drains daily.
