Stray bullet injures biker on Gizri Bridge

Reason for firing not determined; police investigation ongoing

A bike-riding youth was injured after sustaining a bullet to his leg in a firing incident on Gizri Bridge in Clifton.

Edhi's volunteers shifted the injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre late at night for immediate medical assistance, where he was identified as Shahzeb, 18.

However, the reason for the firing could not be immediately determined. Rescue officials say that the police are getting more information from the victim's friend, who was riding another motorcycle at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old woman named Urooj was injured in a firing incident in the Abidabad area of Baldia Town. She was shifted to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital for medical assistance. According to Ittihad Town Police, the incident of firing is reported to have occurred due to a stray bullet. Further investigation was underway.

Separately, a man was injured in a firing in North Nazimabad, while another was injured in an incident of violence in Liaquatabad.

Sources said a person was injured in an incident of mysterious firing near Khatak Mosque at Kati Pahari area of Block-R, North Nazimabad, within the lim- its of Shahra-e-Noorjahan police station. An ambulance shifted him to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital.

According to a spokesperson for Karachi Police, the injured person was identified as Amjad Khan, 40. Police were investigating the incident.
