LAHORE:

Lahore General Hospital Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Dr Muhammad Al-freed Zafar has constituted a relief committee comprising six members in view of the flood situation.

The committee will receive ration, medicines, clothes and cash donations for relief activities and rehabilitation of the flood-hit areas. Prof Muhammad Hanif Mian will head the committee.

Prof Al-freed appealed to the doctors who have graduated from the institution to come forward for the cause. He also requested the citizens and the medical community to donate generously in the relief fund.

He expressed apprehension that after the water recedes in the flood-affected areas, there is a possibility of epidemics.
