ACE to spend Rs36m on video conferencing system

The Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB) is helping out Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), the provincial anti-graft body, in constitution of its own state-of-the-art video conferencing system with a spending over Rs36 million.

Details available with The Express Tribune revealed that the salient features of the system included that the system will be full HD codec. The digital microphone in it will support 360-degree sound pickup of six meters (20 feet) or higher equipped with echo canceller capability.

The system will be incorporated with at least two HD video output ports, two HD video input ports, minimum three audio output ports and three audio input ports and standard XLR and RCA ports for microphones.

The product will be able to support the presentation in the video with high resolution and also sharing the presentation by wireless function being compatible with Windows and MAC operating systems mobile device wireless projection function, compatible with Android and iOS mobile phones and iPad.

The product will be supportive of high bandwidth and also encrypted.

Other features of the system included wakeup or sleep device, mute or unmute microphones, control volume, camera, share presentation, call or disconnect sites, add, delete or view sites, broadcast or cancel broadcast a site, apply or release chairman right, voice activation and extend or end a conference.

It will also be having the supporting virtualisation deployment based on universal servers, convergent access of video, audio, and data conferences with capability to join conference through web interface.

The system will support the Site Call function to allow users to initiate multi-party conferences from site endpoints without manual intervention in the background. It can also receive full-screen captions and banners when SIP and H.323 sites join the same conference.

It will also support the functions such as setting the chair, muting with one click, broadcasting or selecting to view a site, setting continuous presence, broadcasting sites in continuous presence in turn and controlling the cameras.

The video conferencing board will be having at least 55” LED screen with a UPS back of 1KVA with dry batteries. The other salient feature of the system included the standard features like 65” Interactive Video Conferencing Board embedded with smart white board, touch screen, speaker, microphone, camera and codec.

The audio video requirement system will be supportive of join multi-stream conferences, receive and send multiple video streams, and perform multi-screen combination on the terminal side.
