KARACHI:

Former Sindh governor Imran Ismail has dared PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to contest the upcoming by-election against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from the NA-246 Lyari constituency. "Inshallah, Imran Khan will win the Lyari by-elections," he said while talking to reporters on Tuesday.

Imran Khan has decided to contest the by-elections from nine constituencies, but his political opponents have raised objections in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Imran Ismail, who is also a senior leader of PTI, said that unnecessary objections have been raised on Imran Khan's nomination papers.

Ismail spoke to journalists after appearing before the returning officer for the scrutiny of Imran Khan's nomination papers for the NA-246 by-elections. "We want the general elections to be announced as soon as possible," he said. He warned the "imported government" against delaying the general elections saying that the Lahore rally has showed which party the people support.

All PTI MNAs had resigned on the instructions of the party chairman before the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was put to vote in parliament.

"The Chief Election Commissioner himself has become a party against PTI," he claimed.
