KARACHI:

Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Nusrat Shah was unabashed in laying bare the tumors of the country when he said that a crowd of politically and ideologically confused people, dogged by hunger, disease, and deprived of education cannot satisfy the criteria of a thriving nation that can prosper in the world.

"The Pakistan of today is far from the dream of Allama Iqbal and the vision of Quaid-i-Azam," she said using words sharper than a scalpel to cut open the ulcers that have eaten the nation.

For Pakistan's growth and its people's prosperity, we must carefully adhere to the pinnacles of Quaid-e-Azam, Unity, Faith, and Discipline. For the development and prosperity of Pakistan, we must highly educate our youth, protect them from diseases, keep them healthy and equip them with the best skills, which requires the best population planning.

She expressed these views while addressing the flag hoisting ceremony held at the Dow International Medical College Ojha campus.

On this occasion, trees were planted for a greener Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, for which event participants walked from the DIMC's main entrance to the convention centre.
