The administrative judge for the anti-terrorism court handed over a proscribed Sindh Revolutionary Army member to the CTD Police on physical remand in a case about planning terrorist activities on Independence Day.
At the hearing, the CTD police accused Shiraz Ahmed of possessing remote-controlled IED made from a mortar shell and explosives. The investigation officer maintained that the accused was arrested from Hub River Road a few days ago, and company-made mortar shell attached to a remote control was recovered from him.
As per CTD, the suspect was planning to spread terror in the city on Independence Day. The accused and his accomplices are also involved in the Saddar bomb blast. CTD stated that SRA is getting funding directly from the Indian intelligence agency RAW.
The court handed over the accused to the CTD police on physical remand for interrogation until August 15 and directed the IO to submit the case progress report at the next hearing.
