Rawalpindi will have another postgraduate college for girls for which funds have already been released.
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will formally lay the foundation stone of the new Government Postgraduate Girls College in Dhok Dalal next month.
Punjab former chief minister Usman Buzdar had approved the college and released Rs350 million for its construction. Work on the college building will be completed in 90 days as the construction has begun after the release of funds.
Former Federal Parliamentary Secretary Sheikh Rashid Shafiq said that the new postgraduate girls’ college will have three floors and it will be built on a four-kanal of land. He said that the building would be formally inaugurated in 2023 as the new session commences. This will be the first postgraduate college for girls in the Dhok Dalal area, he said.
He further said that the college will have a large science laboratory, a computer lab and a large auditorium with a capacity of housing around thousand students.
Meanwhile, the Forest Department has stopped its officials from seasonal cutting, pruning, and correcting of trees within the premises of schools, colleges, universities, and academies across the province.
