Van crash leaves couple dead, four wounded

BAHAWALPUR:

Two persons died while four others sustained critical injuries in a collision between a van and a trailer in the Chani Goth area.

Police sources said that a passenger van and a trailer collided head-on near the overhead bridge on the Lahore-Karachi National Highway.

As a result, a couple riding in the passenger van died on the spot, while four others, including the van driver, sustained serious injuries.

The Punjab Emergency Service and Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene and shifted the casualties to Chani Goth hospital.

Later, the wounded were referred to Civil Hospital due to their critical condition. A further probe is underway.
