'The Next 365 Days' to release next week on Netflix

The third installment of the film will hit the streaming giant on August 19

The last installment of the popular Netflix franchise, 365 Days, is all set to hit the streaming giant next week. 365 Days 3 – aka The Next 365 Days – will release on August 19. A new trailer continues the story of Laura and Massimo and it followed the release of the first four minutes of the movie on July 25.

This opening confirmed whether or not Laura survived the dramatic finale of 365 Days: This Day. In case you haven't watched the second installment of the film, the end of the sequel saw Laura shot by Massimo's ex-lover Anna, leaving Laura's fate up in the air. Surely they wouldn't kill her off with a third movie on the way.

Well, wonder no more as the opening reveals her fate, but if you want to stay spoiler-free, we won't mention it here. If you want to know though, check out the beginning of the movie below:

Netflix streamed the previous film, 365 Days: This Day, on April 27. 365 Days: This Day is a sequel to 365 Days, which made headlines last year for its sweltering scenes and problematic storyline. Starring Michele Morrone in the role of Massimo, a mafia lord, it shows him kidnaping a woman, Laura, played by Anna-Maria Sieklucka, and holding her captive on his estate, giving her a year’s time to fall in love with him.

Building on thick themes of Stockholm syndrome and romanticisng abuse in the name of love, the film had a tough time with critics. However, it was one of Netflix's biggest draws that year.

The new flick, albeit, has been bashed by the critics immensely. A Variety review has called it “piping hot trash” and Roger Ebert.com says 365 Days: This Day “is barely a movie.” It adds, “It's the emotionally bankrupt id of late capitalism, a braindead miasma of choreographed sex.”
