RAWALPINDI:

Locals have expressed concerns over the lurking of drug addicts in the Misrial Road area within the Naseerabad police limits.

Drug peddlers openly sell narcotics to drug addicts and the youth in the area as the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), the Narcotics Control Department and Rawalpindi police have completely failed to stop the menace that is destroying the youth.

The residents of the area complained that drug addicts roam in the area as peddlers supply the contraband to them with impunity.

The densely populated areas of the Naseerabad police station are also becoming victims of the scourge of peddlers. Be it the Misrial Road or the graveyards of the area, a large number of drug addicts has left the residents of the area worried.

Residents of the area said that the activities of drug addicts in the area clearly show that drugs were easily and abundantly available to them in the area.

They said that the worrying thing was that with these drug addicts, the youths were also indulging in such activities.

Local police personnel go around the area in the name of patrolling and do not take serious action against anti-social elements and drug peddlers, they said.
