LAHORE:

Police arrested suspects in the case of rape of a differently-abled girl in the limits of Sherakot police station in Lahore.

The police arrested Sajjad and Tanveer alias Tanna from Saggian late at night. Both suspects are close relatives. Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar had taken notice of the incident and had given the task of immediate arrest of the accused to the Lahore police.

The 14-year-old differently-abled girl was allegedly raped in Sherakot.

The victim was at her home when Tanveer lured her to a nearby house owned by his brother-in-law. Tanveer then allegedly raped her.

At the victim’s noise, neighbours gathered around the house, only to find it locked from the inside. After making their way in, the neighbours were able to recover the victim and shift her to a hospital. The suspects had fled the scene.
