A woman's body was found in the duct of the lift of a residential building in the Joharabad neighbourhood of Federal B Area Block-9, which was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Joharabad police station SHO AD Chaudhry said the deceased, 50-year-old Mumtaz Bibi, a Makrani Mohallah, Goharabad, worked as a housemaid.
When she did not reach home, her family came looking for her and at the residential building where she worked and contacted the residents of the building as well as its management and informed them that Mumtaz Bibi went to work on Tuesday and never returned. They said her employers might have stopped her from work, but when she did not reach home until Wednesday evening and did not even make any contact, they started searching for her.
However, the residents also said that she left for her home yesterday, after which the search began in the apartment, and her body was found in the lift duct. The SHO added that the woman's body had been autopsied, and the case of death would be determined after the report issuance.
