KARACHI:

Sindh cabinet members have welcomed the "historic" verdict of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the prohibited funding case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

They said that this verdict has proved that Imran Khan is an international thief, who has not only deceived the nation, but also left no stone unturned to hurt the sentiments of Pakistanis living all over the world.

The cabinet members, including Sharjeel Inam Memon, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Syeda Shehla Raza, Nawab Taimur Talpur and Qasim Naveed, said that the former prime minister of Pakistan emerged as the biggest money launderer after the ECP decision.

They expressed these views while addressing a joint press conference at the Sindh Assembly Auditorium on Tuesday.

They said that the federal agencies FIA and other institutions, including NAB, FBR and SBP, should immediately initiate further investigations against the so-called "Sadiq and Amin."

They demanded that the names of Imran Khan and his associates should be placed on the Exit Control List, so that they could not flee the country.

They added that Imran Khan should be arrested, if law allows. Sharjeel said that Imran Khan has brought disgrace to Pakistan.

"Now who will give charity to our country, because of this person's actions, a wrong message has been sent to the whole world," he said.

The ECP verdict has proved that Imran Khan had personal agenda to get money by all means and that he had embezzled money collected in the name of charity for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust and PTI.

Sharjeel urged Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to issue an immediate notification to put the names of PTI's chief and his aides on the Exit Control List because "it is now mandatory for the federal government to take action against these goons".

He further said that the PTI would soon become a banned organization.

The Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that Imran Khan had committed corruption even when he was not in power. Imran Khan is intellectually corrupt who wants to create chaos in the country by spreading lies, he said.

He demanded that a joint investigation team should be formed to dig out more facts. Women Development Minister Shehla Raza said that the one who hurled allegations against others has turned out to be the biggest dacoit.

Imran Khan violated the Constitution and hid the bank accounts, she said. "Today, it has been proved that the PTI is an imported party," she further said.

"Now, it has to be seen who imported it and for what purposes?" The CM's special assistant said that "our heads bow down in shame today as our former prime minister has been declared a money launderer."

"What will we say when we go to foreign countries for attracting investment?"
