Being compared to me is not a curse: Mathira reacts to Kiran Tabier's comment

The TV host took to her Instagram stories to question why people think call her out in a certain way

A follower compared Judwaa actor Kiran Tabier to TV host Mathira on Instagram after she posted a series of pictures. Taking offence to the supposed resemblance, Kiran snapped back at the follower in a sarcastic manner for drawing the apparent derogatory parallel despite being a woman. When Kiran’s response reached Mathira, the television host clapped back at the actor for taking offence to the harmless comment, making it seem like the commentator had abused her.

It all started when Kiran shared pictures of herself in a pink t-shirt on Instagram. A user took to the comments section of her post to suggest she looks like, “Mathira’s twin sister.” The actor was quick to respond: “If you’re actually a girl writing this then I salute you your comment.”  After the exchange went viral, Kiran turned off the comments on her post.

But on Sunday, Mathira took to her Instagram Stories with a screenshot of the viral post that displayed Kiran’s comment on a collage of the two and wrote, “Being compared to me is not a swear (curse) or a bad word but if you think that, then that’s your head. Anyway, people should salute your thinking.” The host went on to inquire, “And why do people think I'm that bad?”

Earlier this year, Kiran became the face of the viral Fiza Shiza meme-fest after her television serial Judwaa received immense criticism for its storyline. Reacting to the memes and all the videos, she took to the photo-sharing app and commented, "What's more important is that we talk about problems that need to be addressed." Kiran added, "The same issues of our country that need our voices, our support and the need to be trending [on social media]. Please use your time and energy wisely. Someone might benefit from it. Otherwise, it is up to you. Keep enjoying memes about Shiza and Fiza."

Former VJ Mathira, on the other hand, is known for nose-diving into controversies and swimming her way across them. Her brazen nature and witty sense of humour made her popular like none other, albeit, her sarcasm is often lost on many Pakistanis.
