Buner bombing: KP minister injured in attack

Unidentified gunmen open fire at Babak's convoy when he was returning from Buner.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Sardar Hussain Babak was injured in an attack on his vehicle as he returned to the provincial capital after his routine weekend visit to his hometown of Buner.

Babak was rushed to a hospital in nearby Swabi. There was no update on his condition. The minister was normally accompanied by a heavy contingent of security since he represents an area that had been under the sway of the Taliban before the military swept them out of the region.

Babak’s family has frequently been attacked in the past. It is unclear how many guards, if any, ere with him when he was attacked.
