SC sets aside objection to plea against PTI leaders

In his petition, Faisal stated that PTI leaders were inciting the people against country institutions

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court set aside legal objections to a petition filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including party Chairman Imran Khan.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard an appeal filed by the petitioner Qausain Faisal against the objections of the Registrar's Office. During the in-chamber hearing, the petitioner argued that the petition complied with the requirement of the Article 184(3) of the Constitution.

The judge dismissed the legal objections to the petition. He said that one week’s time was being granted, after which the new petition would be assigned the case number and it would be put up in open court.

In his petition, Faisal had stated that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other leaders of his party were inciting the people against the country's institutions. He requested that action should be taken and the media should be barred from broadcasting their speeches.
