Victim woman had filed attempted murder case against cousin

LAHORE:

A couple was shot dead in their sleep on the rooftop of their house in Baghbanpura on Monday.

Shahzad and his wife Farah were asleep at their house in Shadipura when a suspect identified as Yasir reportedly climbed to the rooftop with the help of a ladder and shot them.

The victims died on the spot while the killer fled from the scene. Initial investigations suggested that the incident was a result of enmity.

The couple had recently survived a murder attempt.

Reportedly, the suspect is the cousin of the deceased woman and they had developed an enmity after a quarrel between their children.

Farah had registered a case of attempted murder against the suspect. CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect.

In another incident, Faisal Butt’s car was incepted on Band Road and he was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists. Meanwhile, a woman in her 40s was found dead in bushes in the Sabzazar area. Reportedly, a passer-by spotted the body after he noticed foul smell from bushes in J-Block and alerted the police.
