A recklessly driven dumper truck was the cause of accident, according to eyewitnesses and police. However, the truck driver managed to flee from the scene. Kot Najibullah police and eyewitnesses said four people from Haripur were traveling to Rawalpindi on a Suzuki Bolan (GB-739).
When their car was near Sirae Gadai village, a loaded dumper truck rammed it from behind, sending the car crashing into a tree after hitting another car coming from the opposite direction. Muhammad Yunas died on the spot, while Arshad, Zafar, and Khurshid were critically injured.
The dead body and injured were shifted to Women and Children Hospital Haripur, from where the three injured were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.
