KARACHI:

Video of a young bull making the last ditch effort to avoid getting sacrificed on Eidul Azha went viral on the social media.

Many netizens blamed the seasonal butchers for causing pain and anguish to sacrificial animals in their final moments.

As per reports a bull, brought for sacrifice in Bahadurabad's Dhoraji Society, tried to save itself and got loose just as a rope was being tied to it. A local opened fire to control the animal. CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.

The enraged animal broke its ropes and fled. In the footage, one of the locals, trying to play cowboy, can be seen firing at the bull. During this time, the bull hit and injured many people, while also damaging vehicles and motorcycles.

Bahadurabad police station SHO Kurban Ali told The Express Tribune that the incident of firing took place on the second day of Eidul Azha.

The animal was injured as a result of the firing of the gunman. It was ultimately caught and sacrificed.

Ali said the owner of the animal had refused to take any legal action and said the purpose of firing on the bull was make sure that it did not cause further harm to passersby. Last year, there was a similar incident in KDA Scheme 33 in which a local also shot at an animal to stop it in its tracks. Police took action and arrested several people before registering a case against them.
