A 45-year-old man and his 14-year-old son died after falling into a well near Khanpur Road in the limits of Taxila police station on Friday.

Police said that Abdullah, 14, fell into a well and when his father Ejaz Khan and Zain Ali, tried to rescue him, his father also fell and died. Rescue workers reached the spot on time and rescued 20-year-old Zain Ali.

The bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Taxila.

Meanwhile, police arrested two motorcycle lifters and recovered nine stolen motorcycles and other items from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, a team netted two accused named Fazal and Nadeem who were motorcycle lifters and allegedly involved in several cases registered in different police stations.

A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway, he added. On the same day, police arrested another motorcycle lifter and recovered four stolen motorcycles from his possession.

A police spokesman said that a team managed to arrest a suspect identified as Muzamil who was a motorcycle lifter, a street criminal and allegedly involved in several cases registered in different police stations. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway, he added.
