NBP clinch inaugural Cool & Cool tourney

Jamshed steals the show as Port Qasim falter in final.

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) lifted the first Cool & Cool Night Cricket Tournament trophy after overcoming Port Qasim Authority (PQA) by five wickets in the final at the Moin Khan Academy.

NBP, led by Pakistan discard Kamran Akmal, achieved the target of 153 with five balls to spare to seal their win. Nasir Jamshed was the top-scorer making a fine 68 that proved to be a match-winning contribution. The southpaw from Lahore was declared the man of the final.

Earlier, PQA after electing to bat first, threw away a good start to finish with 152 in their allotted overs. Shahzaib Hasan, who scored a century in the semi-final, could only make 29 this time round, while captain Khalid Latif also chipped in with 29.

Jamshed was declared the man of the tournament for finishing as the top-scorer at the event.
