Suspected drug dealer killed in ‘police encounter’

CCTV footage shows accused was firing on the wall of a residential apartment building, injuring one person

An alleged drug dealer was killed in a police encounter.

As per details, Sohrab Goth police arrested a suspect who was injured in a police encounter close to the Indus Plaza Ground on the night between Friday and Saturday and recovered arms, drugs and cash amounting to Rs8,520 from his possession.

He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Aminullah alias Gano. Police claim that the deceased was a drug dealer.

Injured

A man was injured in a firing incident on Abul Hassan Isfahani Road within Sachal police station limits. The injured was identified as 25-year-old Siraj son of Khan Wali. Police acquired the CCTV footage of the incident which shows unidentified accused was firing on the wall of a residential apartment building.

Siraj said in his statement that Yar Khan alias Shooter, Tariq Tareen, Saleem Tareen and an unknown accused were involved in the firing incident.

According to the injured, these accused had also threatened to kill him three days ago. In this regard, SHO Sachal Aurangzeb Khattak said that the injured Siraj was shot and injured by accused Yar Khan. The shooting incident is a union dispute in a residential apartment. Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, a man was injured in a firing incident in Dhoraji Colony area of Bahadurabad police station and was rushed to Jinnah Hospital. The injured was identified as 38-year-old Imam Bakhsh son of Shams.
