At least eight people died and 937 were injured in 885 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours. Of the injured, 529 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 408 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site.
The majority of RTCs involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 475 drivers, 30 underage drivers, 90 pedestrians, and 380 passengers were among the victims of these RTCs.
The statistics show that 262 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 283 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list. Faisalabad followed behind with 74 RTCs and 85 victims and Multan at third with 72 RTCs and 74 victims.
The details further reveal that 937 victims were affected by RTCs including, 773 males and 172 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 175 were less than 18 years of age, 492 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 278 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
