14 new coronavirus cases surface in 24 hours

The deadly coronavirus has once again reared its ugly head in the Rawalpindi district.

According to health officials, 14 new coronavirus positive cases surfaced across the district during the last 24 hours and the positive ratio remained at 1.33 per cent.

 The district health authority has launched a campaign to increase vaccination against the coronavirus.

 Following the re-emergence of the fifth wave of the coronavirus, the District Health Authority has started the fourth phase of collecting samples and vaccination.

 District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Lubna Ishaq said that steps must be taken to prevent the recurrence of the epidemic. She said that the vaccination was being increased and sampling for the coronavirus test was also being increased at the union council level. She said that vaccines will be available at the union council level under the vaccination campaign.

 Dr Lubna said that citizens should also get a coronavirus booster after two vaccine shots.

 Health officials said that so far, 6,906,014 people have been vaccinated in the district. In the last 24 hours, 1,053 people were tested for coronavirus and 14 people tested positive. Currently, there are 72 coronavirus-positive patients in home isolation.
