Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani has said that PPP will get the maximum number of seats in local body elections and elect its own mayor in Karachi.
He said this in a statement released to the media after submitting nomination papers for senate technocrat candidates outside the Election Commission.
Senate candidate Dr. Karim Khawaja, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sheikh and others were also present. Ghani stated, "PPP is fully prepared for the upcoming local body elections and we hope the next mayor of Karachi would come from the PPP."
He stated that, in his opinion, "by-polls should be held on holidays, local body elections and NA-245 by-polls should be held on the same day to save the Election Commission expenses and larege turn out of voters."
In answer to a question, he stated, "The Election Commission holds complete authority after the results of the elections are declared.
Security measures will be decided by the Election Commission.
