Citizens denounce long, unannounced power outages

KARACHI:

The citizens of North Nazimabad, fed up with unannounced and frequent power outages, stormed the K-Electric office, pelted stones and broke window glasses. The Protesters dispersed peacefully after assurances from deputy commissioner (DC) central and police.

According to details, residents and shopkeepers were frustrated following 10 to 12 hours power shutdown.

On Tuesday afternoon, a large number of residents and shopkeepers stormed the office of K-Electric and chanted slogans. Unidentified miscreants pelted stoned on the office and broke doors and windows.

The management of K-Electric immediately informed the police on which, police and DC central rushed to the spot.

Demonstrators said that they pay their electricity on time still they face beyond limit load shedding and unannounced power shut downs. They said that they had submitted several complaints to K-Electric and requested them.
