CHAK JHUMRA:

Unidentified suspects tortured a 55-year-old man to death near Manianwala Expressway in the jurisdiction of the Millat Town Police Station on Thursday.

Passersby upon seeing a body lying on the side of the road informed the police. The body could not be identified, and police were doing their best to find some clue about the heirs of the deceased.

In a separate incident, accused Rafiq, Azam, Asif alias Chaman, Qasim and others opened fire on 36-year-old Mustafa and his brother-in-law Ashfaq in Mohalla Islampura reportedly over a property dispute.

Ashfaq and Mustafa were rushed to a hospital where Mustafa died.

Police finally registered a murder case in Thikriwala against unidentified accused after a delay of nearly three months.

According to the police report, a case was filed by Anwar Khan, a resident of Panjitan Town on Juranwala Road in which he stated that his 20-year-old son, Ejaz Khan, had been living with his brother Babar Khan in a house at 228 RB in Panjitan Town. He told the police that he found the body of his son Ejaz Khan hanging from a ceiling fan of his house at 12pm on March 27.

The complainant alleged that unidentified accused had strangled his son and then hung his body from a ceiling fan to give the impression of Ijaz having committed suicide.

After the postmortem report showed signs of torture on the body of Ejaz Ahmed, Saddar Police Station registered a case against unidentified accused under provisions of Section 302/34 of the PPC and started searching for them.
