CHAK JHUMRA:

A young woman allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself dead with her father’s pistol over some domestic dispute.

The 22-year-old victim was a resident of Street No. 1 in Masikanabad. Police said she had shot herself in the chest and died instantly.

In separate incidents in Chak Jhumra, an elderly woman and a security guard died mysteriously at home and in the factory respectively. Sixty-year-old Arjumand Bano, wife of Qari Muhammad Sadiq, lived alone in her house, and it took her neighbours three days to find out about her demise.

Her body lay in her house all those days. Her neighbours immediately reported the matter to the police.

Personnel from the Madina Town Police Station arrived at her house, seized her body and after completing legal formalities handed it over to her heirs. Sikandar Ali, also 60, who worked as a security guard at a factory, had gone to sleep in his factory quarters after working the night shift.

When he did not walk out of his quarters at the usual time, his colleagues went to check him in his quarters where they found him lying dead.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and two others sustained serious injuries when a dilapidated wall of a private medical college off the Canal Road in Kharrianwala fell on a rickshaw that happened to be passing by the wall when the incident occurred.
