A six-year-old girl was killed in a mysterious incident of firing inside a house in Quaidabad area. The family did not however inform the police and cleaned the spot.
According to details, Zainab Asif, 6, was killed in a mysterious incident of firing on the third floor of a three-storey building in Mills Chowrangi. The body of the girl was taken to Jinnah Hospital.
In this regard, SHO Quaidabad, Ashraf Awan said that the matter is mysterious.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident took place at 7pm on Friday, but police were informed at 10.30pm.
When police reached the scene they found no blood stains or other evidence in the flat.
The victim's father Asif and his family gave an initial statement to the police that Zainab was drinking milk while sitting on the porch when suddenly a bullet coming from an unknown direction hit her in the eye. The girl died on the spot.
Residents of the area said that they did not hear the sound of any gunshot.
According to the SHO, the victim's father is deaf and dumb and works in a factory. The girl's body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted.
Police are investigating from different angles.
