Initial investigations suggested the victims might have been murdered over old enmity

The CEO of a housing scheme and his son were shot dead by unidentified people in Sundar.

The victims, Sheikh Tariq and Muzzamil Sheikh, were reportedly travelling on the main road in Mohlanwal when unidentified suspects on motorcycles intercepted and opened fire on them.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

According to reports, Tariq had a dispute regarding the ownership and partnership of Lahore Garden Housing society over the last two years.

Many reconciliatory and mediatory meetings between the parties were held upon the intervention of ‘influential’ persons. The matter was also brought to the attention of government departments.

However, the dispute was not resolved. Senior police officers including SSP Investigations Imran Kishwar visited the crime scene and collected forensic evidence.

Police stated that the initial investigations suggested that Tariq and his son might have been murdered over old enmity. Police were investigating the matter keeping in view different angles, Kishwar added.
