Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon said on Wednesday that all stakeholders need to sit together to find a solution to control street crime.
Judiciary should consider deciding street crime cases promptly, adding: "If cases are decided promptly, the complainants will get justice."
As far as police are concerned, they have orders to register street crime cases immediately, IGP said talking to the media.
He said the higher number of cases being reported eventually draws criticism from the media and the people, "however, police will respond positively."
IGP Memon said there should a law under which the property should immediately be transferred to the owner after the production of evidence in the court. Currently, goods recovered from thieves and robbers are kept in court custody till the decision of the case.
