Major reshuffle jolts police command

15 DPOs, senior officers have been transferred to different posts across province

The Punjab government has reshuffled senior police command across the province. On Wednesday, CPO Gujranwala Hammad Abid was transferred and asked to report to Central Police Office (CPO). SSP Ejaz Ahmad has been asked to report in his position.

In a late night development on Tuesday, as many as 15 district police officers (DPOs) of Punjab were transferred. Further transfers of key positions are expected across the province. In an order passed by IGP Rao Sardar Ali Khan, SP Asadur Rehman has been appointed DPO Chiniot, while SP Muhammad Aamir Khan Niazi was transferred and posted as DPO Jhelum. SP Kamran Mumtaz, who served as DPO Jhelum was directed to report to the CPO, along with DPO Jhang Hasan Asad Alvi.

DPO Hafiazabad Bilal Zafar Sheikh has been transferred and posted as DPO Sargodha, while his predecessor, Muhammad Rizwan Ahmad Khan, was ordered to report to CPO.

SSP Asad Sarfraz Khan, who served as SSP Operations CTD was appointed as DPO Narowal, while his predecessor, Rizwan Omer Gondal was transferred and posted as DPO Mianwali. The outgoing DPO Mianwali, Ismail ul Rehman, was tasked to report to CPO.

Meanwhile, AIG Operations Muhammed Zeeshan Reza was appointed DPO Sialkot after the transfer of Muhammad Hasan Iqbal to DPO Okara. Outgoing DPO Okara Omer Saeed Malik was tasked to report to CPO.
